I blogged about this kind of thing last year, but that was only about a 1-day experience of four class periods .... I'm talking about four consecutive days of primarily teacher-centered instruction!! There were some think-pair-share moments, and on Tuesday about half the class period was a student discussion like a Socratic Seminar or Fishbowl, but less strictly controlled. Even still, a week of putting myself on-stage felt draining. Instead of planning what students will do, I had to script & schedule what I would be doing & saying. HOW DO MOST TEACHERS LIVE LIKE THIS?!?
It's kind of cheating, but now I will double-dip as a blogger by posting screenshots of the letter to parents that I finished earlier this evening. I still wrote it, so this still counts!
