Yes, my approach to flipping is based on the use of videos. The Flipped Learning Network official definition is much more general, but I am following Aaron Sams' lead (as expressed in his keynote at FlipTech East Coast, which he partly summarized in our video interview).
My goal with this flowchart is to distinguish real flipping from "making kids watch videos". I also think this diagram will show some teachers that they actually ARE flipping their instruction, even if they don't know it. The "directions/details" item in the middle is intended to include preschool/elementary teachers who shouldn't be assigning homework to their young students, but who can use video effectively for parent contact (without waiting for conferences or Open House night!).
Any suggestions to add or revise something to this diagram?
